Muir Glen Soup at Meridian WinCo for 18 Cents!
If your running around takes you to WinCo, I've got a deal for you! The Meridian store has a little end cap of Muir Glen soups at checkstand 16. (That's the one right by the exit door.) They are priced at $1.18 each and when you use the $1/1 IP from www.coupons.com that makes them 18 cents each! I saw garden vegetable, tomato, minestrone, chicken noodle, chicken gumbo, chicken tortilla and lentil varieties.
Also, if you have any of the LaVictoria $4/2 Rewards coupons to use, WinCo has the 16oz size in stock -- unlike Walmart. They are priced at $1.78 each and the cashier will have to force them through, so it might be a good idea to stop by customer service before you check out to ask them how to deal with that. My checker had to call someone over to help figure it out and the process took a bit of time. I ended up getting $3.56 for each coupon, so no overage. Do watch to make sure they don't just hit the bypass key, because this results in the coupon taking off just $1.78 -- the full price of one.
And one more deal to make it worth your while. Go to www.contadina.com for a $.75/3 coupon. Sign up required, but if you signed up at http://solutions.delmonte.com for the $1/4 coupon just log in using that email & password. (And if you didn't sign up for the Del Monte $1/4 -- do it! They make free cans at Albies through the 24th with doublers.) The contadina tomato sauce is about .43 a can at WinCo which makes for 18 cent tomato sauce after coupon -- great price for this food staple! (My Albies doesn't carry the Contadina tomato sauce, so no doubling option.)
That's all for now. Merry Christmas Everyone!

By the way, they are out of the toothpaste that is 4/$10. It is somewhere in the back and they said it would be out later today or sometime tomorrow.

$1 Playtex Gloves
UPDATE: Sorry the coupon does not match! The gloves on sale are the "playtex disposables" and the coupon is for "playtex living". $1 is still a good deal for the gloves.

How about FREE margarine?
- Buy 2 ICBINB sticks, $3.78
- Use 2 coupons, -$2
- Pay $1.78, Get $2 cat!
This catalina is running through 11/28 so there's plenty of time to get yours! (And while I didn't clear any shelves, the Meridian and the O/5 Freddies each have somewhat reduced inventory as of last night, ahem. So, maybe if you're wanting a lot, you should see about doing a special order.) You can do more than one set in a transaction. I bought 8 packs and got 4 - $2 cats.
The sticks I bought last night have a best by date in next April, so I did stock up. These are great for making mac and cheese!

$30/$15 Promo Still Printing AND Works with Breyers - Sara Lee Deal!!!
I'm just back from Albies and here's what you need to know: 1 Breyers from each set (2 pies, 2 ice cream) counts towards your $30.
I bought 5 sets, so 10 pies and 10 ice creams for $31.95 minus $7.75 in various Breyers and Sara Lee coupons = $24.20 + tax. Received $15 in catalinas, so it was like paying $9.20 for it all!!
You could also do just 4 sets of ice cream and pies and use the Skippy & Ragu to get to $30. The scuttlebutt is that this $30/$15 cat will be printing through tomorrow (Thursday) at midnight.
... and don't mind me, I'm just going to do my happy-happy-bargain dance now :)
What is up with the Pie and Ice Cream Promo?
- only being able to use 1 Sara Lee coupon for the whole set
- being able to use 1 Sara Lee plus 1 Breyers
- being able to use 2 of each on a set
Fairview & Meridian: 1 Sara Lee coupon & 1 Breyers per set
Five Mile & Ustick: 1 Sara Lee & 1 Breyers per set
Five Mile & Overland: 1 Sara Lee & 1 Breyers per set
Glenwood: 1 Sara Lee & 1 Breyers per set
It's beginning to look like our area stores might be all on the same page here... Anyone have a different experience? Can you confirm 1 of each coupon per set at any other stores?

From the Fab Frug Inbox!
I was a Albertson's tonight on Hillcrest and I found a great deal on Chinet paper plates. They had the 32 Dinner plates marked down from $6.99 to $2.99 and then I used the coupon for a $1.00 off and doubled it and got two set (total of 64 plates) for $2.12. With the holidays coming up I thought that this was a great deal. Thanks for all your hard work. It is fun reading your website.

Free Popcorn and $1 Huggies wipes at albies
Also, I bought huggies wipes (64 ct). They are 2.99 but have a $1/1 coupon taped on most of them. Double them and I got them for .99 ea.
Hope this helps.

Albertsons Stock Around Town
Now that we have doubles added to the hot promo running right now, I'm certain things will be getting pretty nuts over at the stores.
So leave (and read) the comments here to check up on the status of your store! Also feel free to post any great shopping trips as well! Those are ALWAYS so fun to see!
Yesterday morning at 5&O, they had a display of cereal just inside the East entrance. I was glad to see how well stocked they were on cereal! They also had plenty of the Breyers Ice Cream.
Also, do keep in mind that they will most likely run the same Breyers Ice Cream/Sara Lee Pie Promo as they did last year (don't laugh at the very amature post). Which was 2 Ice Creams, and 2 Pies for $6.37. From the looks of the freezer display at 5&O, I'd guess it would be starting next week.

How to Get Cellfire & Shortcuts E-Coupons
It's not hard to get shortcuts and cellfire e-coupons for your Fred Meyer rewards card.
Let's start with cellfire:
1. Go to http://www.cellfire.com/ and scroll down to the box that says "Enter a City & State or Zip Code" and use Houston, TX 77238 to see the grocery coupons. (You can use any location that has a Kroger. The grocery coupons will not show up using our local zip codes.)
2. Click on the red Register button. (You will need a cell phone number to use cellfire, but you could use a friend's number if you don't have one. It's just used as your login. When you sign up there is an option to turn off text messages from cellfire.) Fill out the information using the Houston zip code and select Kroger Plus card and enter your Fred Meyer Reward card number.
Now for Shortcuts:
1. Go to http://www.shortcuts.com/ and click on the Start Now button. Fill out the form using the houston zip code (77238) and select Kroger for your store. Fill in your Fred Meyer Reward card number.
You should now be ready to add some coupons! You can only get each coupon one time, but they have new coupons every week or two. (I don't recall how often, but they send out an email when there are new ones.) Some of the new coupons are the same as the old ones, just new expiration dates. Be sure to print your list of e-coupons. I mark them off my paper once I've used them. I think there is a limit of 50 e-coupons from each site that can be added to your card, but this shouldn't be a big issue since there aren't that many e-coupons, LOL.
When I was researching how to do e-coupons, I did read somewhere that the e-coupons might need to be loaded an hour or so before you expect to use them to give the system time to update them to your card. I haven't yet tested this out as I usually load them the night before I plan to make my Freddie's run.
Shortcuts and cellfire have a lot of the same coupons. I would suggest making sure that you have one e-coupon loaded on each that isn't loaded on the other site, so you can test out to see if each site's e-coupons are working. For example, only load the Nature Valley Nut Clusters on shortcuts and only load the YoPlus on cellfire and then go to Freddie's and buy one of each to see if the e-coupons work.
It might be easiest to test these out using the self-checkout, so you can take your time and watch for the e-coupons to come off before paying. The shortcuts e-coupons show up as SC followed by some numbers then the discount amount and the cellfire e-coupons are the same except they say Cfire.
Happy e-couponing! Feel free to ask any questions. I'm really new to using e-coupons still, but I'll do my best to answer or find the answer.
ETA: I used the self-checkout with an e-coupon transaction today and the e-coupon didn't come off until AFTER I pushed the pay now button! (I've had a similar thing happen in the regular checkouts as well with the e-coupon/s not coming off until the very, very end.)

Does anyone else use e-coupons?
The e-coupons come off automatically when I use my rewards card -- even if I use a manufacturer coupon on the same item. For example, I bought a bag of Nature Valley Nut Clusters for $2.50 and used a $1/1 IP from coupons.com and my $1/1 e-coupon also came off, so $.50 for a bag. Also, shortcuts has a few coupons for Kroger or Private Label items. I bought a carton of Private Label ice cream today for $2.29 and had a $1/1 e-coupon come off, so it was $1.29 for my ice cream.
It's a little bit tricky to set up the e-coupon accounts, because Fred Meyer isn't officially supported. I selected the Kroger card option and then inputted my Freddie's reward number. If there's interest, I can put together a how-to post on what I did to set them up.

They were all out of the Franz Wheat Bread ($1) and the Salted Tillamook Butter ($1.25) - this was at the Freds at 5&O. I'm not sure when they restock, and I wasn't about to send him to go inquire. Ha ha!

Question....
Sunday, October 11, 2009
Seventh Generation
Yay! Seventh Generation products are 40% off again this week at Fred Meyer.
Go to www.seventhgeneration.com to print out some great coupons. (You need to register with them first and then each coupon can be printed twice.)
It feels great to be stocking up on these environmentally-friendly tissues for just $0.31 each!
:( No Albertson's doublers on today's papers
Organic apples at Fred Meyer
(FYI - I did a little research in the past and discovered that you get the biggest benefit from buying organic for fruits and veges where you are eating the skin. So if you have limited $ it is better to spend it on organic apples and grapes than on organic bananas and oranges.)
Friday, October 9, 2009
Red Wine Vinegar
... AND some of the bottles of vinegar themselves had manufacturer instant savings peelies on the caps. Some were $0.50 off and some were $1.00 off! ...
...which all equals some pretty decent quality red wine vinegar for $0.50 to a $1.00 each!

Cereal, Oatmeal, Pasta... Oh MY!
Here is what I found:
17th & State - good stock on hand, although it was 11:00 am when I went by. I didn't make it to the other side of the store to see if there was a large display though - Had a full shelf of the Dinosaur Egg oatmeal.
Meridian/Cherry - they have a large display of all the Quaker items PLUS the Ronzoni pasta (that you can get for $.20 after the coupon!). They had a great supply and this was as of 8:00 tonight. (No Dino Egg oatmeal)
Five Mile/Overland - my sister was there and said they have a large display and plenty of cereal and oatmeal, although no Dinosaur Egg oatmeal.
Orchard/Overland - no large display, just end cap displays. Plenty of pasta on the shelves, although again, no Dino Egg oatmeal!
How is your store looking? If you're wanting the Dinosaur Egg oatmeal I'd suggest getting a rain check or placing an order (my kids love this, but I ALWAYS add some of the plain oatmeal to it to "water down" the sugar effect and make it stretch a little longer).
Organic Chicken
Today, I was very excited to see that CostCo is awarding a $4.00 instant rebate (per package - limit 5) on their boneless and skinless organic chicken breasts.
If you buy the lightest packages this knocks the price down from $5.99/lb (what they seem to cost just about everywhere) to about $4.25 to $4.50/lb.
This certainly can't compete with Albertson's $1.79/lb deal on non-organic chicken breasts - but if you like your chicken organic, head over to CostCo!

Free Nature's Source laundry stain remover at Albies!
(p.s. This works on the whole line of nature's Source cleaners. I did some price checking.)
Free Crescent Rolls at Freddies & a Cherry & 10 Mile Albies Money Maker!
Also, the Cherry & 10 Mile Albies has their Skippy on bonus buy for $1.50 ea. I noticed on PYP's catalina thread Skippy Natural (brown lid) is giving $1 OYNSO when you buy 2. In fact, the promo is listed twice with two different end dates. Guess what! Both are running! So, go to Cherry & 10 Mile and buy 2 Skippy Naturals, use a .75/2 coupon from yesterday's paper and a doubler pay $1.50 for 2, get back 2- $1 OYNSO cats = $.50 MM! Remember to buy in 2's. There's a display of Skippy in the back of the store near the yogurt. I didn't see any of the creamy, but there were about 5 cases of the chunky. Go clean them out, Ladies! :) This is only going to work through tomorrow, then one of the cats is ending.
